Exciting Changes for Stuartholme

Term 1 will see refreshed gardens, new paint work and upgraded classrooms.

Director of Business Operations at Stuartholme John Fitzgerald said the updated changes will make way for a productive and progressive year.

“It’s great the impact a fresh coat of paint can have,” he said.

The Design and Technology Department is now home to several new additions to their classrooms.

“We’ve upgraded the kitchens and sewing rooms to keep up with the demand for the subject,” John said.

The Stuartholme Science Department will soon be welcoming improved labs and flexible learning rooms in the lead up to welcoming Year 7 students in 2015.

“This term will see the development of renovated science labs ready for when our Year 7 students join us,” Head of Science Wendy Macdonald said.

“A lot of our girls are interested in the Sciences and wish to do further study upon leaving secondary school.”

Last year 50 percent of Year 12 graduates achieved an OP 1-7, of whom five percent gained an OP 1.

Stuartholme consistently performs well above female state averages in both QCS and OP results and these results reflect the respect the school has for intellectual values.

2014 will also see the Boarding Heads-of-House take on the roles of individual and group tutors for the girls.

Director of Boarding Nonie Ayling said the changes will provide increased academic and personal support for the boarding students.

“Having access to personal tutors in-house is a great resource for the girls,” she said.
