Swimming Carnival Success!

What a great day! Again there was unbridled enthusiasm for this annual event with so many girls nominating and competing for their house that we had to introduce more heats!  There were some great times lodged and some wonderful efforts by the swimmers in support of their House.

The student /staff relay was again tightly contested with the staff just pipping the students at the post. The House Captains and Sports Captains did a superb job in organising their Houses and the house chanting and cheering was relentless all day. Coen House were our eventual winners with 1206 points, second on 892 was Macrae, and third on 885 was Stuart followed by Woodlock, Toohey and Parker.

Congratulations to Coen House on a wonderful win. The Spirit Stick will be awarded on Friday in Assembly and will once again be a tightly contested award. Congratulations too, to our Age Champions:

I would like to thank all staff for their assistance on the day of the carnival as well as all the student helpers who never tired all day in carrying out their duties… you were amazing girls! I would also like to especially thank our Sports Coordinator Mrs Katherine McMain for all her work in organising the day.

The girls have been training so hard under the inspirational guidance and expertise of our swim coach Peter Rosengren and his team of coaches. The CaSSA Cup will be held at Chandler on Thursday 13 March. The girls are very excited about this event and will be working hard over the next 2 weeks in preparation.

Congratulations to our Swim Age Captains who were named at the carnival. They will be working alongside our Teacher in Charge Mrs Moran, and our Swim Captain, Jamie O’Callaghan over the next few weeks.
