A splash in the right direction!

Summer Camp - Web Photo2“It’s Summer Camp time!” Co-Curricula Director Louise Jackson explains.

“Summer Camp is a three day intensive camp filled with a stack of games, sports and get-to-know-each other activities.”

“A lot of the games are designed to help the girls discover and develop their skills and talents.”

The transition into high school can often be a challenging time for students but Summer Camp allows a safe middle ground for the girls to make lifelong friendships.

The ice-breaker camp has been an annual tradition at Stuartholme and this year will see over 240 girls attend from Years 7 to 11.

Peter Rosengren is the coordinator of the camp and believes the program provides vital foundations for the girls as they start their secondary school life.

“It’s a lot of fun; the girls are always laughing together and enjoying each other’s company,” he said.

“They particularly enjoy the pool events, splashing in the water during summer is the best way to spend a hot day.”

Charlotte Adam-Dobbie will be in Year 7 next year and said she’s been looking forward to Summer Camp for weeks.

“I’ve heard so many great things about it from friends in other grades and I couldn’t wait to come,” she said.

“I’m really looking forward to making new friends and meeting some of my teachers.”
