Brit makes State Team 6th year in a row!

“I saw my two older sisters riding in competitions and I knew that it was what I wanted to do too,” the 16-year old equestrian champion confessed.

Brittany has been riding since she was 4-years old and competes regularly as part of the Stuartholme School Equestrian Team.

“It’s an honour to represent my school and do what I love,” she said.

She recently competed alongside a selection of Stuartholme riders in the annual Interschool State Equestrian Championships in Maryborough.

Brittany was the only rider to be selected for the State Team six years in a row.

“It was a huge privilege to have my efforts recognized again this year and be able to compete,” she said.

“It’s a lot of hard work but when you do your best and respect your horse; all the preparation is worth it.”

Equestrian Coordinator at Stuartholme Anna Starosta said it was especially encouraging for the team to have a senior rider achieving such high levels of success.

“It inspires the younger riders to try their hardest and to not give up,” she said.

Brittany and two other team members will now go on to represent Queensland at the Interschool Nationals held in Perth in September.

“We have a strong team this year and wish them all the very best,” Anna said.
